Community Arts and Crafts

The culture and heritage of a community are most vividly expressed through its arts and crafts. In Qikiqtarjuaq, these traditional skills are alive and well, and visitors are welcome to join our demonstration of these extraordinary talents.

We offer two opportunities: a demonstration of traditional clothing and its manufacture held at the Gathering Centre, and an introduction to the arts of carving and tool making held in the community Arts Studio.

Each is remarkable, and represents a continuity of life in the Arctic stretching back thousands of years.
